Rootimentary Wellness, LLC was created by Dr. Tecoya Farrakhan with her husband, Dr. Karriem Farrakhan. The company was created to offer sound education to the alternative health and "cannabis curious" communities regarding alternative approaches to maintaining a healthy mind, body, and soul.
Dr. Tecoya Farrakhan is licensed, Doctor of Pharmacy, a certified integrative health and wellness advisor, a plant-based nutrition advisor, and the recipient of two Masters Degrees in the areas of Cannabis Science and Therapeutics and Business Administration.
Dr. Farrakhan brings quite the pharmacy career to Rootimentary Wellness, LLC. She started her career as a floating, full-time pharmacist for a couple local retail pharmacy companies and after spending several months as a retail pharmacist, Dr. Tecoya knew she needed to take a leap of faith and sacrifice to move to the next level in career. As a result, over the next several years, she held various leadership roles within the managed care pharmacy ecosystem including working for various insurance carriers, pharmacy benefit management companies and small and large benefit advisory firms supporting numerous Fortune 100 companies to effectively manage their pharmacy spend as a consideration of their total medical spend.
Most recently, Dr. Tecoya has begun offering her expertise to those seeking advisory services in medical cannabis retail business management and patients seeking clinical consulting. Clinical Consulting sessions are streamlined to the needs of the patient and include medical cannabis focused sessions, as well as, medical cannabis incorporated and integrated into additional lifestyle advisory services.
These days, Dr. Farrakhan is interested in spending her time with her family creating new memories and supporting patients in gaining new tools they can use in their every day lives to "take control" of and be empowered by their lifestyle and healthcare choices.
Each new day provides a "new beginning" and an opportunity to make "new" choices.

Dr. Karriem Farrakhan is a licensed Doctor of Pharmacy, and is the recipient of two Masters Degrees in the areas of Cannabis Science and Therapeutics as well as Business Administration. Dr. Karriem Farrakhan founded Primo Pharmacy Services, LLC in 2007, a boutique, niche, pharmacy staffing company focused in the area of managed care pharmacy. He continues to successfully lead this business today.
In 2018, Dr. Farrakhan also discovered a desire to understand cannabis and plant medicines a bit more when he decided to enroll in University of Maryland School of Pharmacy's Graduate Masters Degree Program focused on the science and therapeutics of cannabis-based medicine.
At the same time, Dr. Farrakhan has a desire to support and help people along their personal journeys to discuss what optimal health can mean to them. The plant-based lifestyle is often discussed and supported in these discussions.
Dr. Farrakhan is also a dedicated Father to two teenagers and a dedicated husband, best friend, and life partner to Dr. Tecoya Farrakhan whom he loves beyond explanation! Love is unconditional!

Rootimentary Wellness is an advisory group with the goal to help guide both cannabis patients (or cannabis consumers), healthcare practitioners, alternative medicine healers, and potential business persons new to the space through this ever-changing cannabis industry landscape.
We effortlessly attempt to address the gaps in knowledge many people possess today as most continue to shy away from committing to making difficult or challenging lifestyle changes, incorporating quality self-care, utilizing various medicinal plants such as cannabis and psilocybin, and ultimately, loving and learning from life's experiences and impact.
